Greetings from Iowa! The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Law Enforcement Bureau, is looking forward to hosting the 2006 ANRET Conference here in Des Moines (Clive) on June 18-21.

We have put together a very dynamic agenda that we feel you will enjoy and benefit from. We have also allotted time for “round table discussions” among our members. This is always time well spent. We have tried to provide the training that YOU have requested.

On the bottom of their webpage they list a wide variety of local attractions and activities that will be great for the family, including the brand new Jordan Creek Town Center Mall, Adventureland, the new Des Moines Science Center, the Des Moines Zoo, Living History Farms, and lots of golfing opportunities!

The Des Moines area is served by the Des Moines International Airport (code DSM).  We will be providing transportation to and from the Des Moines International Airport on Saturday through Wednesday. Please let us know your flight information and we will be delighted to pick you up!

(The Des Moines airport is approximately 13.5 miles from the Wildwood Lodge. If you prefer, the Wildwood Lodge does have a complimentary shuttle service. You must contact them at least 24 hours in advance.)

SPOUSE AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Additionally we also have a number of spouse (and family) events planned. There will be NO CHARGE for the spouse events and transportation will be provided.  Tentatively, the spouse events will include a trip to the new Jordan Creek Town Center Mall and to Valley Junction (an “artsy/craftsy/antique” shopping area).  A trip to the State Capitol and State Historical Museum is also tentatively on their agenda. The spouse events will be hosted and led personally by expert shopper and tour guide, Sue Edwards (Randy’s wife!). Other activities will be planned as the spouses get an opportunity to meet and to discuss their options and preferences.

DOOR PRIZES, SILENT AUCTION, AGENCY ITEMS

Please remember to bring items for door prizes and the silent auction! We are going to have some GREAT prizes! (Also be sure to bring along agency related items and materials for trade or give away!)

OTHER ACTIVITIES

We also have a sporting clays shooting event planned for late afternoon on Tuesday (weather permitting) for those who may be interested. The other alternative will be a trip to a great local Des Moines sporting goods store (Scheels). Afterward, we will all be meeting at a local county park for an Iowa cookout!
